Beginnings
Born in New South Wales, Ashleigh picked up a guitar at around eleven years old and began shaping an identity across indie, pop, folk and roots.
Early on, live performance and travel did most of the work. Influences publicly associated with her music include Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder and Rickie Lee Jones.

The world opens
Work with Billabong and performances connected to surf events, fashion events, charity events and international travel opened Ashleigh's audience beyond Australian venues.
A 2008 performance at Fuji Rock Festival led to a Japanese release period through Surfrock International and Pony Canyon. "Pieces of You" became an important early song.

From the city to the mountains
From The City arrived in 2011, followed by Live at The Vanguard and, in 2013, From the Mountains — with Kim Churchill featured on "His Harmonica".
Her writing and live identity moved outward and inward at once — songs shaped by landscape, movement and the beginnings of a longer artistic patience.

Collaboration
As one half of Little Georgia with Justin Carter, Ashleigh's harmony singing and live work reached new audiences, alongside collaborations with Kim Churchill, Jack Biilmann and others.

Return
In 2025, weeks after the birth of her third child, Ashleigh returned to the studio. WOMAN followed — her first solo release in more than a decade — and then Be Honest.
The songs did not arrive as a reinvention. They arrived as a return: older, clearer, and less interested in hiding.
